THURSDAY 10:00 am -11:00 amIntroduction to Astanga Yoga-Short Form Ashtanga (Sanskrit for "eight-limbed") Yoga is an ancient system of yoga popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois. Ashtanga is different from many yoga classes in the west in that the order of poses is predefined. The practice, designed to detoxify the body, is in three main parts: an opening sequence, primary series poses, and the finishing sequence. Just as in all yoga classes, Ashtanga ends with savasana, or resting pose.

Breathing Space Yoga at LAKEVILLE -HATHA only Hatha Yoga is considered the grandmother of all yoga - it is what most people in the west associate with the word yoga, and is most commonly practiced for mental and physical health. The word hatha comes from combining the Sanskrit terms "ha" meaning sun and "tha" meaning moon. The word yoga means to yoke, or to join two things together.
